About Teextile
Teextile is a new and promising looking design contest. Paying to artists $4 for every shirt sold (up to the first 500), it theoretically offers one of the best artist commissions, although of course it has to sell enough shirts first which will take some time as it builds up its reputation and community. From what we’ve seen so far the platform itself is very nice and easy to navigate, some early designs look encouraging, so this is one to watch. Their angle is to offer one new run (currently 5 shirts) of shirts a week, just for one week. When they are gone, they are gone.
Shirts: $12 -$15
Shipping: Very cheap $2 flat free, or $5 expedited. Internationally its $10 to most countries.

Very poor experiences with this store. Takes forever to print and ship, at least 1 month. It would be fine if the shirts printed perfect, but they don’t. Customer service is very poor. E-mails are rarely replied to. If you post anything negative on the forums it’ll get deleted.
I’ve received 3 shirts from them.
One was OK, not perfect. Design was slightly stretched vertically so somewhat out of proportion, but wearable.
One was a free shirt I got for winning a contest. Printing was very washed out and poorly defined compared to the mock. They supposedly have a satisfaction guarantee, so I sent it back at my own cost expecting an exchange of some sort. After numerous slow e-mails that didn’t go anywhere (kept asking for an order # to refund me, but since I won the shirt I had no order #) I just gave up and ate the loss in shipping it back.
The third printed terribly, totally unwearable. What was supposed to be orange and yellow printed as brown and green. The white ink was thick, uneven, and rough. Screens weren’t aligned properly so different colors overlapped. Requested a refund, which I only received after 1 month.
On top of that, they aren’t printing on AA blanks anymore. It’s a pity the printing is sub-par because I had high hopes for this store, and like a lot of designs that get printed there.
Teextile offers a great price for American Apparel tees with (generally) much better designs than similar sites, but be prepared to wait about a month for your shirt. The only reason I didn’t knock shipping down another point is because it’s $2 (or free if you voted for that design), and the actual SHIPPING time is reasonable. It’s the processing you’ll have to wait for. Considering that sites like Woot and Teefury can offer multiple designs per week and still get them out on a timely basis, I fail to see how Teextile can’t do the same.
I’d gladly get more shirts from them, since waiting isn’t such a big deal for me, but if it is, stay away. Also be aware that some Teextile users have reported printing mess-ups with their shirts, especially on all-over designs.
Prob one of the best deal in the shirt day. DBH and Threadless quality designs for $12- $15? HOTDAMN!
Due to its process of printing, the shirts can get a while to get to you. What happens is that once you’ve bought your shirt, you have to wait till the shirt’s week’s is done. Then Teextile has to order the shirt blanks from their shirt provider. This takes a couple of days. Then they have to print on the shirts. Depending on the design, this could take a considerable number of days. Ususually it takes about a month for it to get to you. But take from me. After ordering five shirts, it’s still worth it.
Their designs are really different from what’s out there, and the price is fair, but their shipping is horrendous. They say it may take a week for them to print and ship, but in actuality you won’t get your shirt for a month +. I ordered a shirt on June 1st and I have yet to see this shirt. Although I will give them credit for answering their emails quickly, but obviously they still have a lot of logistical issues they need to work out. I will update when I receive my shirt, but from what I’ve read on some other forums, it’s pretty common for shirts from them to arrive a month or so after you’ve ordered it
I like they’re design choices, every week there’s at least one design that I like. The price is a little higher than some other sites, but that’s not a problem I think. But to tell the truth, I was somewhat disappointed with their overall service. I just bought one shirt from them until now, but although the print is soft, it isn’t as clear as it seemed in the site mockup. It looks washed out. Also, the international shipping takes too much time. For that wait, I wish that at least the shipping was cheaper.
Teextile is a great place to buy highly artistic t-shirts for a low price. Everyday they add a new shirt to buy. If you buy it the day of it being available you pay less for the shirt. The shipping fee is $2, this is very awesome. The downside to the price is that they don’t ship until around a week after you buy your t-shirt. If you aren’t in a hurry there is nothing to worry about. One innovative idea that this site has implemented is that if you vote on a t-shirt and that t-shirt is chosen to be sold on their site, you get free shipping on that shirt. Their prints are done nicely and it is done on American Apparel shirts (they are mighty comfortable).
I would highly recommend this site. Check it out!
What can I say, the price is right. Everyday of the week, one of the five shirts that get printed have their own selling day. On that day the shirt will be twelve dollars, every other day they will be 15 dollars. Also, if you are an active user and vote on shirts, when it gets printed you get free shipping. There are a lot of talented artists on this site, and with the opportunity to get the rights to your design back after your shirt has been printed is wonderful, and artists have been taking advantage of that. The shipping is slow and painful, waiting up to a month for that really sweet shirt. However one must take into consideration that when you order the shirt, it is not made yet. It is a pre-order. When the week is over, they tabulate everything they need to order, they order the shirts, ink, etc. then once they have the shirts, they print them, all of them. They print it themselves locally using a detailed screen. The month wait is definitely worth it though, because once your shirt comes in the mail, you’re just pleased with the overall quality, style, and accuracy of the design. It is definitely worth the twelve dollars you could potentially be spending on this shirt.
Free shipping if you voted for the design? That’s a genius idea if you ask me. I love t-shirt communities and the submissions on this site are great. I love how they do things such as have an all-over print at least one day of the week, have a two-color print at least once, etc. The print quality is fantastic and I would recommend teextile to anyone.
This is my favorite t-shirt community currently. The only drawback has been the length of shipping, it does not annoy me personally but some persons can be frustrated by this. It is my favorite mainly because they are constantly pushing for customer feedback and input. Also, they have pretty good customer service, or at least from what I have experienced. In addition, the pricing is also incredibly reasonable and they always pick a nice variety of designs weekly.
The shirts are printed on American Apparel, which I love the fit and feel of. The prints are not heavy at all, and if are printing a lot on a shirt they will use discharge.
In summary, this is a great site and I highly recommend it.
