About Sheol Clothing
Sheol Clothing is an indie brand based in Leeds, UK. It was recently launched in 2011 based on four ideas: balance, give, process, and the term “sheol”, which is an old religious term for the afterlife. I find a lot of clothing brand “mission” pages to be unbelievably cheesy and eyeroll-worthy because–really, c’mon–in the end you’re just selling t-shirts, and getting all philosophical about it can be off-putting. However, I really liked the way Sheol wrote its copy here. It gets across the message without sounding preachy.
Anyway, back onto the topic of t-shirts — I really like what Sheol has so far. The website is gorgeous and well-branded, and the t-shirts all have an elegant, artsy feel without the pretension. They’re also only twelve pounds apiece! The downside is that there are only three of them. However, this is acceptable for a startup label.
