About Seventh Ink
Seventh Ink is a US brand started by Matthew Johnson, a guy with a love for graphic design and art. This indie brand has a variety of fun, colorful designs, favoring cartoon-style graphics and logos. Probably won’t be your kind of thing if you prefer the stuff over at Design By Humans or Threadless, but great if you love shirt designs which don’t take themselves quite as seriously. Seventh Ink’s newer stuff is definitely stronger than their older designs, which look more like amalgamations of stock vector graphics than carefully designed pieces.
One thing I still don’t get is why Seventh Ink is located at “furyshirts.com”, which is both misleading and confusing for customers. It also detracts from the brand’s otherwise pristine professionalism.

Seventh Ink was having a good sale on their older shirts ($10) so I bought a couple. (Regular prices are $18-$24.) Men’s shirts are printed on American Apparel blanks. The selection is good, but the “Let’s Get Denarded” design seems to me to stick out like a sore thumb. While it is not obvious from the pix on their site, the Seventh Ink logo is printed on the left sleeve of each t-shirt. Something to be aware of if you don’t like that sort of branding.
The order system is decent, allowing you to check out with or without an account (as a ‘guest’). I received emails when I created my account, when I placed my order, and when my order was shipped. I thought shipping was a bit expensive at $6.65, but it was shipped via USPS Priority, so I got my order quickly.
When I created my account, I was signed up for their newsletter. There are new designs coming out Sept. 2010 which are Halloween-themed, and supposedly more will be coming out later. The new designs will also be available on hoodies and belts.
All in all, a good t-shirt buying experience.
