About Monsieur Poulet
Monsieur Poulet is another t-shirt contest, this time based in France. Their main website is in French, but you can access an English version with the tab to the left of their header. They are actually quite similar to the better-known La Fraise in style and business model — many of their designs have the same quirky, cartoony art style and they also sell special women’s cuts. They promote ethical practices by printing on organic cotton shirts made under fair trade conditions.
Winning artists get paid €2 per shirt sold, with the possibility of earning up to €2,000 total. It’s not as great a prize as other contests, where winners get a flat cash reward, but it’s something to consider for European designers!
Shirts: €26 — fairly expensive even in euros; as a US resident this is close to unaffordable for me (kids shirts are €16)
Shipping: Shipping can be calculated on the cart page by entering in your location, starting at ~€5 for French customers. Shipping to the US costs about €19. Yikes!

A really great positive and ethical European design contest. We’re big fans of their style, but less of their prices and high shipping costs that means this probably makes this one interesting only for Euro dwellers.
