About Mental Floss
Mental Floss is a site about knowledge, but they also have a fully-stocked store including an extensive t-shirt line. It’s hard to pin down the theme — I suppose you could vaguely describe the subject material as “academic”? Lots of wordplay, references to geography, philosophy, music, and other fields. It’s kind of like a collection of assorted “interesting facts” on t-shirts. The designs aren’t bad, if a little basic — about the same level as Busted Tees or similar. It’s unfortunate that Mental Floss prints their logo on the back of each shirt, though, as we’re not big fans of more branding than is necessary. Although they’re aimed at brainiacs, its pretty simple to get the references to the shirts, which are funny and inventive and make a nice change from the floods of drinking/high school/offensive style of humour shirts on the net. Mental Floss is nerdy and proud.
