About designgive
It’s always great to see companies gearing their business towards a good cause. designgive is 100% dedicated to generating donation money for respected charities such as the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. All of their t-shirt designs are donated by artists. Unfortunately, I can’t find anywhere on the website mentioning how much of the profits goes to the charity donations, but I’m hoping it’s a fairly healthy amount!
The designs vary in color palette and style; many have have a specific message or concept behind them. The artists provide a small blurb explaining their ideas behind their creation, so you can tune in.

I was a big fan of Designgive and their support of some great causes – that is until my most recent purchase with them. Yes, they typically take a while to send out the shirts, and yes, the sizes run a little small. But that hadn’t been a problem for me.
I recently bought two shirts during a sale on their site. I say recently, but it was more than a month ago. The morning of May 21st to be exact. I received the first shirt after about a week and a half. The second however never showed… neither did their standard email notification that the order had been proceesed/shipped. I emailed Designgive to let them know (June 9th). After a couple days of silence, I got an email confirming that my shirt had been shipped (June 11th).
I received my shirt on the 14th of June – 24 days after I had ordered it. But there was one problem… I had ordered a large. My invoice and confirmation email had noted and confirmed that I had ordered a large, but when I opened the package I found a medium shirt had been shipped.
Just so you know, I typically order medium shirts elsewhere, but the last 3 shirts I bought from Designgive were larges and all shrunk to be smaller than most medium shirts I own. So the idea of accepting the medium shirt was like accepting a tube top or something – just wasn’t happening.
To make things worse, upon reviewing the return policy, I should have received a return mailing label. This hadn’t happened. So my options were, 1) Pay to have the shirt shipped back for the exchange out of my own pocket despite the fault being Designgive’s, or 2) Try and get in touch with them to get this resolved.
I took option 2. On June 16th I emailed them (as they have no phone number posted) to let them know I had received a medium in error. After 4 days of no replies, I decided to follow up with another email on the 20th. Today, a week after that first email and 33 days since my original order, I still have not heard from them, nor do I have my correct order.
Lesson learned. This will likely be my last order from them unless they do something great to make up for the customer service fail.
Word to the wise, if you run a business and rely on the customer to make your money – make sure you cater to that customer.
