About Colus
Colus is a new brand named after and created by Colus Havenga, a South African artist based in San Diego, California. All of the designs here are single-color prints focusing on creative use of negative space and themes of “morality through to mortality.” The minimalist aesthetic carries through to the refreshingly clean storefront, which complements the designs quite well. I really like the style of all of the illustrations, which seem to be slightly influenced by the awesome look of African art. I could do without the small branding at the bottom of each design, though — it has the effect of transforming the gorgeous artwork into another one of those boring mass-produced shirts you could find at your local mall.
