About 6dollarshirts
Sometimes you don’t want steak. Sometimes you don’t want to eat out. Sometimes you just want a ham and cheese sandwich. For days like that we have sites like 6dollarshirts who I only found today when they popped up in my gmail sponsored links. Relatively new (2009) and offering the cheapest shirts around – just $6 for one and $50 for 10 (with shipping an additional $20), they’re based in the USA. Some people have said ‘if its too good to be true, its too good to be true,’ on this one we’re going to let you decide, but some negative comments about their customer service have been left in the blog area of this site (see this post) The shirts are mainly pop culture and punnage gags, similar to what you might find on Snorg or Busted Tees (in fact there is some serious design overlap, which you could probably also call infringement
)

The website says 5-6 days shipping, although it took about two weeks (probably due to my location) otherwise they’re all the right size, good quality, and none are in bad condition. I’d recommend it as long as you don’t mind the wait.
I ordered shirts but they where late and the wrong colour. Shipping to Canada was a mistake cause it took far too long
Well, I decided not to buy. Even though I really liked the tee shirts I chose, the only reason I was going to buy them was because I was going to get 10 for 50 but when they they said it would be $25 to ship, I decided that I didn’t actually NEED any of these tee-shirts. I was iffy about spending 50 unnecessary dollars, but I am not in any situation to show blow $75. I think that they should work on getting cheaper chipping, they’d probably get a lot more business.
This has been a terrible experience for me. I ordered 20 shirts as party favors. I gave the company plenty of time to make the shirts in time for my party. Their website claims they turn around orders in 1 or 2 days. Well – 8 days after my order I finally get a shipment tracking number that indicated the shirts would arrive 4 days after my party. I gave them 11 days total but it took over 2 weeks and they charged me over $25 for shipping – all to no avail. But here is the real kicker, if you have a problem, you cannot contact these people. They do not answer the phone and will not respond to emails either. Oh, but they sure as hell did not waste any time charging me, my card was charged right when the order was placed, not 10 days later when they were shipped – which is customary. I will never do business with these losers again.
I was very happy to receive my shirts I ordered today. exactly what i had ordered, no mistakes. The only down side was the cost for shipping. But other than that, Ill be ordering two more today!
i ordered a shirt and it took like 2 weeks to arrive and when i opend it it was the wrong shirt…it made me sad
I am already a bit frustrated & haven’t even ordered. Sizing for Girls’ Tee needed clarification, since photo of girl could have been a woman. Email reply came back quickly from customer service telling me that these are Junior sizes. We shall see…
Cool shirts.! Only one shirt looked crappy. Overall I’m happy.
Horrible customer service. They want you to pay $5 to reship AND return shipping when they send you a defective product. Who does that?
I ordered quite a few shirts over 10 days ago. Still have not shipped and I have emailed and called a few times with no response. I guess you get what you pay for…Lesson learned !
Well, as I posted yesterday, I had only one issue with my shirts and that was that two of them were much smaller than the others. I emailed the company yesterday afternoon and when I got to work this morning I had received a reply asking what they could do make it right- did I want larger sizes in those shirts?
I emailed back and said that I would rather get the shirts in colors that I knew would fit and for them to please send me the two shirts in colors that I designated. (I knew these two colors would be fine based on the other shirts I had received)
I received an email back within 10 minutes letting me know that they would ship my replacement shirts and that I could keep the tiny shirts at no charge. I found them to be quick to respond and eager to help. I am very pleased.
Well, so far I am pleased with my order- I do have a pending customer service issue, so I guess we will see how it turns out.
I placed my order on December 4th and received a confirmation email the same day letting me know my order was processed. I did not know how long I should expect production to take, so when I had not received any other email by the 8th, I emailed them and asked what sort of time frame I should look for. I got a reply on the 9th letting me know that my shirts should be shipped soon and apologizing, which was nice. On Friday the 10th I received a tracking number for my delivery. I received delivery today, on the 13th. So, all together it took nine days to get my 10 tshirts to me, only 6 business days- I think thats good.
The only issue I have is that two of the shirts are extremely smaller than the rest, even though they are all labeled medium. They are a different brand, which I am assuming has to do with color availability, but they are so much smaller that there is no way they will fit. They look like youth mediums instead of women’s mediums. I emailed them today (the 13th) to let them know. These 2 shirts are at least 3 inches shorter and 2 inches more narrow. I would not expect to pay shipping to correct this, and I have offered to send them pictures if they need them.
Wish me luck!
I love the huge selection, but when I found out shipping to Canada was going to be $40 for 10 shirts I’ve decided not to buy. Shipping for one or two shirts was also a little high. Once inflated shipping costs are factored in, the deal is gone for international buyers. If I lived in the States, the doubled shipping wouldn’t be so bad, but at $10 a shirt I’d sooner buy elsewhere and just get shirts I can’t live without.
Horrible shirts and service! Don’t waste your money, plus it takes forever for them to ship your shirts.
It’s clearly a great deal for ten T-shirts. I can’t even go to Walmart and pick up T-shirts for cheaper than this, or as trendy.
Good stuff dude. Buy em.
Well. I live in Australia. They wanted to charge me $68 in shipping, to buy $50 worth of shirts. Can you believe that? They have their ’10 shirts for 50 dollars’ sign up, trying to lure customers in. I say ‘that’s great,’ and waste half an hour picking the 10 shirts. In the back of my mind, I knew there had to be a catch. I was expecting ‘yeah they’re going to spring $25 shipping on me’. But no. They wanted to charge me $68 for shipping. $68 to send me ten pieces of cotton in the mail. Look. T Shirts in shops are expensive these days. And $118 for ten shirts is still very cheap. It’s possible- even probable- that I would have bought the shirts if they advertised the true cost up front. Certainly if it were 10 for 100. Shirts in the shops routinely cost 50 dollars these days (which is a cruel joke, but that’s how much they cost). So 10 for 100 is a good price. 10 for 118 is also a good price. But I refuse to pay it because they tried to trick me. Tried to lure me in with this idea that I’d be getting 10 shirts for 5 dollars each, then springing a trap at the last moment, either hoping I wouldn’t notice or that I would be too enamoured with the shirts to walk away from the transaction. It’s predatory behaviour. It’s dishonest. So I sent them an angry letter, but I felt that wouldn’t be enough. They need some bad publicity. So I’m here to tell you this company sucks. If you live in the USA then I don’t know, maybe $20 shipping for 10 shirts is acceptable. It probably is. But they tried to charge me $68 to ship ten pieces of cotton. I have bought 15 books from amazon.com, which came in a box that would weigh about 25-30 times the amount that such a package of t-shirts would weigh, and the shipping was less than $20. So let there be no mistake here: the shipping costs they claim are not real. They are inflating the shipping cost, pretending it is high when it isn’t. This is a dishonest company.
I’m actually quite happy with the shirts, the vintage blue is a bit more blue then on the site, but hey: they’re still 6 dollars. You can’t compare screen-colours with actual colors, not even if you print it the picture of the shirt.
It took a little while before I got a tracking number but the package arrive neat and in good shape on the right day.
Although I’m happy with the shirts, I’m gonna return my own shirts because they’re a bit to large, normally I have XL (Live in Holland) but I need an American M (ordered L). That’s gonna cost me 20 euro’s for shipping the L shirts back. I hope I don’t get another 40 bucks for shipping the M shirts from them to me. Cause that’s about a total of 50 euro’s for me to pay because the size chart on the site isn’t really helpfull.
Yeah, I know, it’s across the Atlantic Ocean but I’m still student and 50 euros extra is alot for 6 shirts.
Just an FYI I wish I would have seen Charles’ post earlier. I put an order in 2 weeks ago, and can’t get a response to an email, and no one has ever picked up their phone. Now I did get a confirmation that my order was received and “processed,” but nothing else. No tracking, no ETA, nothing. What I find odd is they claim if your order is delayed someone will contact you. So it would appear that something has to be later than two weeks before they consider it delayed.
Now it appears they received my order correctly (itemized receipt was included in the “processed” notification email,) but let’s see what, if anything, shows up on my door.
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. When you look at their website some of the “office” pictures make the whole operation seem pretty adhoc/fly by night.
As it stands today, they seem to have a serious service problem that will end up shutting them down in a hurry.
Also, the shipping is ridiculous 10 shirts 3 states, $16. I would have rather had them tie some of that cost into the price of the shirt and be upfront with me. That dishonesty should have been my first clue their would be problems.
Just an FYI in the final chapter… The shirts arrived neatly stuffed into a box that was clearly 1 size to small.
The shirts were better quality than I thought they would be, and they were made by several different manufacturers, most notably Hanes. A few of the lighter colored shirts were nearly sheer when a single side was held against my hand, but nothing I would consider unwearable.
My only real complaint besides time and lack of communication was the quality of the screen print itself… With the shirts being pressed together so tightly in the undersized box I could actually hear the screen-print making a peeling sound as I pried the shirts apart. As a result two of the screen prints had little (no bigger than 1/8 by 1/8) sections of the print peel off the shirt before I even put it on… Really an annoyance more than anything else…
Would I ever order from them again? I might but I would be hard pressed to do so.
Hope this experience helps someone else out there.
I bit, and got bitten. The shipping was a bit high ($20 for 10 shirts) but I pulled the trigger anyway thinking what the hell, they’re $5 shirts (when you buy 10). It took 3 weeks to ship, they completely screwed up my order, and their customer service is non-existent (by phone or email). To turn a couple of clichés, you get what you pay for (not this time), and if it is too good to be true, it most definitely is.
6dollarshirts.com is the worst company ever!
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE COMPANY. LIED TO ME ABOUT SHIPPING TIME (MORE THAN A WEEK LATE ON EVEN SENDING MY ORDER OUT!). THE QUALITY OF THE T-SHIRTS IS VERY LOW, AS WELL. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THEY CAN’T EVEN CENTER THEIR T-SHIRTS DESIGNS! OF THE TEN SHIRTS I BOUGHT, 3 ARE MASSIVELY OFF-CENTER! THEY REFUSE TO RESPOND/GIVE A REFUND/ACKNOWLEDGE YOU EXIST.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, REGARDLESS OF HOW CHEAP THEY ARE! THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE ARE THE PROBLEM.
UPDATE as of 9/14/09: They did finally contact me last week after a month, apologized and sent me my return order.
SCAM ALERT!!!! The company is also marketed under threadpit.com. A lot of customers never gotten their ordered products while their credit cards have been charged. I personally received 2 of my orders about a month after ordering, so I was lucky in that regard if you can call it that.
However when I needed to exchange the items (sizes run small), I was told to send them back with a $5 reshipping fee and they will send me the exchange. I got delivery confirmation from the post office that they received my package with the small shirts on august 3rd, but as of now Sept 4th, I haven’t received anything.
They don’t answer emails, don’t answer the phone and don’t return messages. Don’t order from them unless you want to get ripped off!!
